Holiday in Vinschgau

From Naturno to the Reschen Pass stretches the idyllic Vinschgau, a diverse region where orchards meet rugged mountain peaks.

Guaranteed Sports and Leisure Fun

The Vinschgau holiday region – with resorts like Glurns, Prad am Stilfser Joch, Schlanders, Sulden, or Graun at Lake Reschen – attracts numerous sports fans, connoisseurs, and culture lovers from near and far every year. Here, vacationers have the opportunity to explore the varied landscape on old irrigation paths, while more challenging routes are available on the numerous three-thousand-meter peaks, and leisurely hikers can discover the cozy alpine paths. An absolute experience is the Vinschger Höhenweg, which runs from Staben to the source of the Etsch and offers an extremely varied vegetation. The route has a total length of 108 kilometers and consists of several stages, mostly following the old connecting paths between farms or the Vinschger irrigation paths. Additionally, kite surfers find excellent conditions at Lake Reschen and Lake Haider, as these two bodies of water are among the best addresses for enthusiasts of this sport. Adventurers also experience ultimate freedom here with snowkiting, where high speeds are achieved. Thanks to its size and altitude, Lake Reschen completely freezes over in the cold season and can therefore be safely traversed. In winter, guests also enjoy themselves in the Ortler Ski Arena or at the Schnalstal Glacier, but snowshoe hiking and ski tours in the surrounding mountains are also very popular. The Vinschgau also has some very popular spots for ice climbers, including the artificial ice towers in Martell or Sulden.

Bike Mecca Vinschgau

Both beginners and bike experts will find a variety of single trails in the Vinschgau holiday region, ranging from the irrigation path to natural trails or flow trails. Great emphasis is placed on perfect service here, so athletes have access to route planners, trail books, guided tours, and well-equipped bike shops. The Reschen Pass is a paradise for enduro trails, where all trails are already connected by cable cars or the Via Claudia Augusta.

Extensive Cultural Offerings

Culture enthusiasts should take the opportunity to visit Churburg Castle in Schluderns or Juval Castle, which Reinhold Messner uses as a summer residence. The diverse cultural offerings are rounded off by idyllic chapels, noteworthy churches, and various festivals and traditional events.

In the sun-drenched region, vacationers find accommodation options in comfortable 3- or 4-star hotels in quiet locations, where guests can enjoy a cozy atmosphere. Many of the inviting retreats also feature exclusive wellness areas, ensuring moments of enjoyment. Those who prefer a more familial setting can choose a cozy holiday apartment or stay on a farm, where one finds tranquility and relaxation amidst the fascinating mountain landscape.
