Enjoy a taste of South Tyrolean cuisine with our recipe for cream cheese, egg, and leek spread. A perfect blend of chives, eggs, and leeks, refined with creamy cream cheese.

Here is a simple and delicious recipe for a cream cheese egg leek chive spread, perfect for bread or crackers:
Ingredients:
  • 200 g cream cheese
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs
  • 1 small stalk of leek
  • 2 tbsp chives, freshly chopped
  • Salt and pepper
  • Optional: 1 tsp mustard or a pinch of paprika powder for extra flavor
Preparation:
  1. Cook and prepare the eggs:
  • Hard boil the eggs, let them cool, peel, and finely chop.
  1. Prepare the leek:
  • Wash the leek thoroughly to remove any soil residues. Cut the white and light green part of the leek into very fine rings. Optionally, you can sauté the leek briefly in a pan with a little butter to make it softer and more digestible.
  1. Chop the chives:
  • Wash the chives and cut them into fine rolls.
  1. Mix the ingredients:
  • In a bowl, stir the cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add the chopped eggs, leek, and chives, and mix well.
  • Season with salt and pepper. Optionally, you can also add mustard or paprika powder now to intensify the flavor.
  1. Chill and serve:
  • Let the spread sit in the refrigerator for at least an hour to allow the flavors to develop.
  • Stir again before serving and adjust seasoning if necessary.
This spread is a delightful combination of creamy cream cheese, savory leek and chives, along with the hearty flavor of eggs. Perfect on fresh bread or as a dip for vegetable sticks. Enjoy your meal!
