Power Places in the Hall-Wattens Holiday Region

Relaxation on a Tyrol Vacation: Power Places in the Hall-Wattens Holiday Region

Power places are very special spots: Here you can recharge your energy, find inspiration, linger, and pause. Such special places can also be found in the Hall-Wattens region, some of which are quite hidden and still true insider tips.

For instance, a roughly seven-kilometer-long Swiss Stone Pine Path starts at the mountain station of Patscherkofel, leading through one of the largest European Swiss stone pine forests. Throughout the tour, you can enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the Karwendel mountain range, before reaching the Tulfeinalm after about 2.5 hours, where you can take the gondola back down into the valley. Along the way, you will also pass by the oldest Swiss stone pine in Tyrol, which boasts a respectable age of 750 years.

Prominent Viewpoint: Kaisersäule in Theur

Another power place in the region is the so-called Kaisersäule, which can be found above the village of Theur. This is a historically significant site that was also visited by Emperor Franz I of Austria after the Congress of Vienna to enjoy the impressive view from there.

Power Place Monastery

A particularly special aura is also emanated by the St. Martin Monastery in Gnadenwald, a place where you can recover both physically and spiritually. Below the monastery, there is a stone labyrinth that symbolizes the human life path, where you can take your time to let the tranquility take effect on you.

Impressive Valley

A visit to the Power Place St. Magdalena in Halltal is also highly recommended, a very rugged valley that shows visitors some boundaries. There, a visit to the chapel dedicated to St. Magdalena, which was built on a wide forest clearing, is worthwhile.

Icon of Rock and Lime

Perhaps you are also drawn to the legendary Bettelwurf, a 2700-meter-high peak in the Karwendel mountain range. At the drinking water tunnel, there is an ascent path that leads to the Bettelwurfhütte or to Bettelwurf. It is a steep path with great views, established by Carl Gsaller in 1881. In 1894, the Bettelwurfhütte was built, and during this process, the path was also expanded, which still runs today as it did in the past.

Romedikirchl and Castle Ruin

Above Thaur, you can find the picturesque Romedikirchl and the castle ruin, which can be reached via various hiking trails. One of them starts directly at the village parish church of the Assumption of Mary and then leads over the Stations of the Cross to the Romedikirchl at an altitude of 793 meters. Once you reach the top, you will quickly understand why this place is a very special power place, as culinary delights, history, and spirituality are very close together at this impressive viewpoint.
