Holiday in Merano

The famous spa town of Merano is characterized by a Mediterranean climate, making it a popular vacation destination year-round. Here, both athletes can enjoy skiing, mountain biking, or hiking, and culture enthusiasts will find a variety of options in Merano.

Popular Spa Resort

The health resort Merano became well-known in the 19th century, as many doctors greatly valued the mild climate for the treatment of lung diseases. Additionally, grape and goat milk cures were also offered at that time. The landmark of Merano is still the Kurhaus, which can be found on the Passer promenade.

Merano in Spring

Spring begins very early in the basin of Merano. The landscape is then enveloped in a beautiful floral dress, and one can immerse themselves in the impressive nature during extensive walks. The gardens of Trautmansdorff Castle, the Waal paths, and the promenades are highly recommended, but a trip to Schenna, Lana, or Naturns, where one can enjoy the apple blossom, is also worthwhile.

Varied Activities in Summer

A wide range of vacation activities are available in Merano and the surrounding area during the warm season. Vacationers can explore various hiking trails in the Passeiertal, Schnalstal, Ultental, or the Texel Group Nature Park. Additionally, mountain bikers and cyclists have access to a well-developed network of cycling paths. After sports, one can cool off in the swimming pool or visit the Terme Merano, which also has a lot to offer in summer.

Autumn Traditions

In the golden season, apples and grapes are harvested in Merano. Furthermore, guests can look forward to numerous culinary events, including the popular Törggelen, the Merano WineFestival & Culinaria, or the Grape Festival.

Breathing in Winter Air

In winter, Merano attracts visitors with numerous family-friendly ski areas such as Merano 2000, Pfelders, or Schwemmalm. The Schnalstal Glacier ski area is somewhat more challenging, with some slopes open even in summer. Additionally, travelers should definitely visit the Christmas markets, where they can immerse themselves in a festive atmosphere.

Guests can choose from luxurious 4- or 5-star hotels that offer a unique feel-good atmosphere. Here, one enjoys their holiday happiness in spacious wellness areas and is, of course, also spoiled culinary-wise. The 3-star hotels are somewhat more affordable, where one can relax and unwind in peace. A stay in a guesthouse is very warm and family-oriented, and vacationers who prefer to self-cater are also very well accommodated in the Merano holiday apartments. Find your Hotel in Merano here!
